BuildNext is looking for a highly skilled and experienced Software Development Manager/Engineering Manager to lead a 20+ member team in the development of modern web and cross-platform applications, as well as AR/VR/3D applications. The ideal candidate will have 12+ years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in a successful enterprise SaaS product/data platform, and 5+ years in software engineering management.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 20+ software engineers, including hiring, coaching, mentoring, and performance management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, prioritize, and execute software development projects and initiatives.
- Drive the adoption of modern software development practices, including Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD.
- Create and own the software engineering roadmap to ensure BuildNext technology stays ahead of the curve in meeting current and future business objectives with minimal tech debt
- Work closely with the product/program management teams to ensure product roadmaps align with customer needs and business objectives.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including core ops, customers, partners, and vendors.
- Ensure that software development processes and procedures are documented and adhered to, and that code quality and security standards are met.
- Continuously assess and improve the team’s performance, processes, and tools, using data-driven metrics and analysis.

Minimum Qualifications:
- 12+ years of overall software development experience, with at least 5 years in a successful enterprise SaaS product/data platform.
- 5+ years of software engineering management experience, with a proven track record of building and leading high-performing teams with 20+ engineers.
- Strong technical skills, with hands-on experience in modern web and cross-platform application development, as well as AR/VR/3D application development.
- Well versed with Agile methodologies, DevOps, and CI/CD as well as cloud-based technologies, such as AWS or Azure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a startup, scaleup or other high-growth environment.
- Experience with modern software development languages and frameworks, such as React, Angular, Node.js, and Python.
- Strong project management skills, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience building a construction tech product is a huge plus.
